Boxercise is one of the most effective forms of cross-training available today.

Ford Fitness Boxercise classes incorporate many components of boxing, jabs, hooks, uppercuts and blocks so every class is different and exciting.

Boxercise Circuits
Boxercise class format is a circuit style Boxercise class including boxing stations, such as the Focus Pads, Punch Bag, Speed Balls, Shadow Boxing, Torso men, Skipping Ropes, Medicine Ball, Squats, Sit Ups, Burpees, Lunges, Weights and other more general exercises found in a good Boxercise circuit class.

Punch Bag
working the punch bag is a major component of any boxer's training. A good punch bag workout combines cardio work, muscular endurance, strength training, speed, timing, balance, hand to eye coordination and boxing skills into one fitness activity. Hitting a punch bag is a fast high rep workout that builds muscular endurance as well as strength.

Focus Pads
Focus Pads are the closest you'll ever get to hit your partner for real, often used by personal trainers as the intensity of the workout can be varied from beginner to advance. The pads allow the Boxercise Instructor one-to one contact with each person in their class every time! How many fitness classes can claim that? It's no wonder that the retention rate of Boxercise class participants is so high.

Another favourite is the Boxercise Aerobics format. This uses power moves to punch up your heart rate. Every hook and jab puts your rectus abdominis, oblique’s and lower back to work. Simply punching works the biceps, triceps and deltoids to give that upper body a toned look.

Boxercise is the latest and best exercise to empower women and get men back into Fitness.

The workout uses the entire body. Cardiovascular you burn more calories in an hour than using a stair climber. Boxercise combines use of both aerobic and anaerobic energy systems with the systematic recruitment of both fast and slow twitch muscle fibres in a manner that not only ensures a diverse workout, but also enhances sports specific senses, including hand-eye co-ordination, balance and timing. Boxercise classes are always fun, energetic and addictive. Correct technique takes practice and good instruction.
